Ventura County Fair 2009

We took the train to the Ventura County Fair. The kids loved it and then we don't have to deal with the traffic and parking as well. Graham, Katherine, & Nicholas

We had to hit the rides as soon as we got in the fair. Katherine went down the slide in the kiddie corner & she did very good. She is growing up so fast :(

Katherine & Nicholas did the Nascar ride. Nick got scared 1/2 way into it & they stopped the ride to take him off & then restarted it for the rest of the kids.

Before Nick got scared.

Katherine went on the spinning cups with a little girl.

While mommy & Nick went on the helicopter ride...

Katherine then went on it by herself

While we were eating lunch of corn dogs & french fries there was so much for the kids to look around and see.

Nick was having sooo much fun :)

Next.. off to see the farm animals. First the roosters & chickens.

Next baby lambs, cows, pigs, & bunnies

Baby moo so Nick said.

This pigs had 9 babies!!!!!

The kids really liked the sheep. Even Nicholas would pet them.

Next stop.... the horses

Katherine LOVED feeding them. She knew exactly how to do it and was not scared at all.

Nicholas was not so sure. He went to feed the horse but once the horse turned to him he backed up and decided not to do it.

Katherine did a pony ride and she was so excited because it was not hooked up to anything and she did good :)

Nicholas watched as his sister rode the pony.

Then back to the kiddie corner & we rode the kids train.

After a couple more rides, a souvenior for each kid, dinner, and ice cream for Katherine we headed back outside to wait for the train to take us home at 10:10 pm. Once the train came and we got on it we got to see fireworks from it that went off over the fair.

Finally heading home and nothing to see out the windows since it was so late and dark.

Nicholas was exploring since no one else was sitting in our car in the train.

We had a really good day but it was a little long. We didn't get to the fair until 3:00 & the first train home was at 6:30 which was a little to soon to head up but the 10:10 train was to late for the kids. We were actually done at 8:00 but did manage to keep ourselves busy to 9:15 when we went out to get the train.
